BACKGROUND...
Way before the Autobot/Decepticon Great War began, Krok was a professional athlete playing All-Star Mecha-Soccer on Cybertron. Hard training and conditioning helped build Krok's ability to kick. He was a cruel and vicious opponent on the field and when it came time to choose a side in the war, Krok went with the Decepticons. He reasoned that they had better chance of winning due to the merciless nature they both shared.
Krok certainly has an incredible kicking ability, but it has come exaggerated over the years. It is commonly said that he could kick an Autobot out of orbit if he wanted to. On Earth, he can use his automatic-powered foot to create mini-Earthquakes that read up to 7.0 on the Richter scale.
At some point in the war, Krok was exposed to the chemical - Nucleon. Although it gave him super-strength, it also took away his ability to transform. So Krok partnered with another Decepticon named Gatoraider, who transforms into a concussion cannon for him to use as a weapon.
Eventually, Krok was able to purge the Nucleon from his system. From there he adopted a crocodile-like creature alt-mode, similar to that of Gatoraider.
MY THOUGHTS...
Krok was originally released in 1990 - the final series of the original Transformers line. As an "Action Master", he was more of an action figure than a Transformer since he could not convert. I was well out of Transformers by the time of his release and knew little to nothing about him other than he appeared in the last few issues of the comic book.
In 2017, Krok was released as part of the Titans Return series of Transformers. Now he was more of a "Headmaster" and his partner, now called Gatorface, transformed into his head. Krok here was simply a repainted Skullcruncher figure with a new head, but it made sense! We don't know what Krok's original form was... but considering both he and his partner's names - I think we can safely assume he should have been a crocodile.
While he is a repaint, the figure has been wonderfully reimagined! His new head is quite sinister looking and the color scheme of black, purple, and neon green works perfectly. My boys all got into the Titans Return line pretty heavily and this is one of their figures.
I took an instant liking to this figure... I just think he's great! When deciding to do a "Transformers Month" for Snoova's Corner Café - my mind was made up to basically cover characters from the first 4 series, because that is the years I collected and am familiar with. My knowledge and interest is minor after that. I decided to include Krok though! My limited knowledge of him gave me the opportunity to flesh out his background a little just for fun.

I don't have any pics of the original Krok from the Action Master series. However, here is Krok's trading card that came with his 2017 figure! |
(Information on the character's lore was taken from the figure's original Tech-Spec AND largely made up by me. Not much is known about Krok, so I took some creative license with this one!!!)
